SSI Training and the Diver Diamond
An integral part of the Customer Loyalty Cycle is the SSI Diver Diamond, which is the focal point of SSI's sales and marketing integration plan, and can be seen throughout each of our training programmes. The Diver Diamond emulates the four critical components necessary for successful diver development.
Proper Knowledge - Understanding the
science of diving is essential to building
confidence in your student divers. SSI's
Education System allows the student to
accomplish most of the academics
independently. 
The instructor then
supplements and reviews what they
have studied, allowing him or her
to demonstrate the link between
knowledge, skills, equipment,
experience and a safe, enjoyable diving
adventure.
Proper Skills - The competency based instruction of SSI's Comfort through Repetition philosophy is a highly successful way to teach divers the necessary skills they must know in order to have pleasant underwater experiences.
Proper Equipment - The integration of equipment into all diver training classes is key to your store's profitability and success. Diving equipment is also vital to a student's safety, confidence and commitment to diving.
Proper Experience - This is quite possibly the most critical leg of the “Diver Diamond.” During any diver's training, the types of experiences you provide will be the deciding factor for whether they stay actively involved in diving. A great first experience will result in long-term customers and referrals, as well as sales of equipment, continuing education and travel.
Quality Training through Quality Control
SSI is the only agency that requires all training to be completed through an SSI Authorised Dive Centre and monitors Dive Leaders on-site via an effective, quality assurance programme.
Dive Centres are selected through a careful and thorough screening process. This assures that SSI Instructors provide quality training, adhere to training standards and always conduct themselves professionally.
And it doesn't stop there. SSI Instructor Trainers and Instructor Certifiers are also monitored to ensure they adhere to the highest standards when training dive professionals.
